World Food Safety Day

World Food Safety Day took place on 7 June. Promoted by the World Health Organisation, its aim is to draw attention to the significance of maintaining good hygiene standards around the food we eat. This year’s theme underlined the importance of being prepared for food safety incidents, no matter how severe or mild they may be. 

The older we get, the more susceptible we become to infection. The Chiswick goes to great lengths to raise awareness of and to reinforce food safety management amongst the entire team at the nursing centre. We are inspected annually by Hammersmith and Fulham Environmental Health Team and their food safety inspectors, and we currently hold a 5 star rating – the highest available – which we have done for the past 6 years.

Mealtimes are a highlight of the day at the Centre and we pride ourselves on the standard and variety of our food. Menus are carefully planned and tailored to dietary and cultural needs and preferences. Food ranges from homemade soups, nourishing dishes, cakes and sweet treats at tea time, all prepared by our specialist catering team.
