Singing all the way to Christmas

Christmas festivities are getting underway here with several local school choirs lined up to entertain us.

Flora Gardens Primary School from Ravenscourt Park kicks things off on 1 December. The choir has a weekly session at school to learn new songs and practise their repertoire so this will be a showcase for their talents.

Next up on 5 December is Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School. Both the lower and upper schools have active music programmes and the children are well used to performing in public. Singing for our staff and residents should be a joy for all involved – performers and audience.

On Thursday 8 December, our residents are put centre stage with some carol singing, led by Verity. The following day, the carols continue when children from Wendell Park Primary School, Turnham Green are our performers.

Music and singing bring well-documented health benefits for body and mind, especially for those living with dementia. For the rest of our residents and staff, just seeing the smiles and hearing the angelic voices of the children will delight all who attend our festive performances. And, of course, who doesn’t enjoy some festive carol singing at this time of year?
