Resident in room

Room service

There is always something to do here at Chiswqick Nursing Centre. Our activities’ team publishes a monthly calendar of events, tailored to each of our suites and designed to appeal to as wide a range of tastes and interests as possible. We do appreciate however, that not all residents are well or robust enough to leave their rooms. Others, especially those with dementia, may feel uncomfortable in larger groups or are happier in their own space.

To accommodate everyone, activities’ personnel make a point of visiting all of these people in their own rooms. The aim is to ensure that no-one is left socially isolated. As importantly, they seek to encourage everyone in our care to maintain as much communication as possible, since this will aid their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as aid memory retention for as long as possible.

With their knowledge of each person’s abilities, likes and dislikes, activities’ staff will often take with them large size puzzles, games, props or reading materials to assist interaction. Sometimes, it is just a case of listening to the radio or some favourite music together.

That’s what we call room service with a difference!
