Physiotherapy at The Chiswick

Physiotherapy care for the local community

We offer experienced physiotherapy services to the local community at Chiswick Nursing Centre.

As an integral part of the centre, our physiotherapists are exceptionally experienced at helping older people to achieve the highest levels of recovery from a wide range of physical injuries.

Our out-patient care follows the current Government guidelines around patient safety and you will be seen by a therapist wearing appropriate PPE equipment.

You can expect your first visit to be an initial assessment with one of our physios. He or she will then agree a plan of treatment with you – including goals which can be monitored and exercises to be completed during your scheduled sessions. These will be reviewed and revised at future treatment sessions depending on individual requirements.

Other on-site facilities include a physio gym which is easily accessible to individuals with a wide range of mobility issues.

In-patient physiotherapy for respite and convalescent care

As a provider of high-quality care and nursing services, our luxury Balmoral and Windsor Suites offer a hotel-style environment for anyone looking for short-term recovery care from an injury or, typically, hospital surgery.

A typical in-patient is 70-something, Mrs X, who arrived at Chiswick shortly after a hip replacement at a central London hospital. The operation had been a success, but she recognised the need for further physiotherapy to build confidence in using her brand new hip.

We provide intensive in-patient physiotherapy, delivered as many as 5 sessions per week to ensure that physical recovery improves and stays on track.

Mrs X was booked into an en-suite bedroom with TV, direct dial telephone and Wi-Fi access. She enjoyed a selection of delicious and nutritious meals prepared by our on-site chef.

What’s more our care and nursing team are available 24/7 throughout an in-patient stay.

After three weeks, Mrs X went home to North London, raring to go back to her normal life, fully able to use her hip.

Steve Winter – The Centre Director at The Chiswick Nursing Centre said:

“Mrs X is a prime example of someone who wanted the safety and security of our hotel style nursing and care service with the reassurance that our physiotherapy programme would offer her the stability and confidence that she wanted before venturing back home and to her normal way of life.

“Our physio service has lots of good examples like this – we treat everyone as if they are a superstar!”
