Residents at The Chiswick Nursing Centre enjoyed all the fun of the carnival at their Summer Festival (30 August).
Almost all of the residents managed to attend the event for at least some time during the day and were able to see and enjoy a Caribbean steel band, a jazz singer and some traditional Mauritian dancing.
Everyone had a great time with lots of singing and dancing to accompany hot, tasty BBQ food and drinks.
Centre Director, Steve Winter, said:
“We have all really appreciated seeing our residents getting out into the gardens and enjoying the better weather, the fun, singing and dancing which have made this such a great event for everyone. We have raised a total of £600 which will go towards our resident amenity fund – enabling us to buy more specialist equipment for those who cannot always get outside to enjoy themselves.”
Henry B (Brother of Resident) said:
“The summer fete at the home was wonderful. Thank you. I have not seen my brother enjoy himself so much for a long time. Well done to the staff and manager.”
