Elf Day is Coming

Residents and staff at The Chiswick Nursing Centre are gearing up for Elf Day to help raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The event officially takes place on 2 December although activities will be happening  all over the country either side of that date as the general public, schools and businesses play their part. Expect to see elves in the most surprising places.

Plans are already underway at The Chiswick with some staff members preparing to dress up in elf outfits. Residents are likely to join in the fun by sporting elf ears or hats with bells on.

Activities Manager, Arti, aided by our Head of People/Resources Sarah, has arranged some specially-themed games designed to get residents involved, interacting and generally having a laugh.

Of course, anyone can join in to help raise funds and awareness for this important cause. The Alzheimer’s Society exists to provide research, services, information and support for individuals and families living with all forms of dementia. Their dedicated website has lots of fundraising ideas https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/elf-day. Just £10 will provide a first conversation with a Dementia Adviser, £15 will turn four ordinary citizens into Dementia Friends and £50 will allow 312 people to access the Society’s helpful online community Talking Point.

Sponsor a member of staff to do an ‘elf’ activity in aid of Alzheimers Society. Sponsorship forms are available from the activities team. We will be pleased and proud to match fund donations gathered from this event.
