Congratulations to New Carers

We often hear of how the health and social care sector is struggling to recruit suitably qualified staff. Whilst we too, would welcome greater numbers of applicants to what are rewarding careers, we are proud to play our part in attracting new members to our team and training them appropriately.

It gives us great delight, therefore, to announce that 22 carers have just completed the first stage of their training – the Care Certificate workbook. This initial training covers 15 standards, laid down by Health Education England and Skills for Care, which staff are required to meet and demonstrate in their work. It takes, on average, around 12 weeks to complete.

Four of the cohort, Ali Farah, Ruchika Ruchika, Jenna Mauree and Dombawalage Fernando are pictured receiving their Care Certificates.

Steve Winter, Centre Director said: “This is an important first step on the career ladder for our trainees. We offer our congratulations to all of them and an assurance that we will continue to support them as they progress along their career paths with us at CNC.”

Earlier this year, 22 people completed this training with us so this represents a significant number of new arrivals or returners to health and social care. We wish them all happy and successful futures.
