Healthy Eating Meal

Autumn Menu

As the nights draw in and temperatures begin to fall, our thoughts turn to comfort food – those dishes that nourish us, keep us warm and re-energise our minds and bodies.

Menus at The Chiswick are planned well in advance and a week’s worth of meals is carefully designed to offer a balanced and nutritious choice of varied dishes. We always provide a vegetarian option or something suitably nourishing and tasty for those with other dietary needs or preferences.

The day starts with breakfast offering an array of cereals, porridge, fruit, a hot dish, toast and marmalade.

Lunch is generally the main meal of the day with three courses. Autumn/Winter main meal options might include a soup to start followed by roast chicken, fish and chips, meatballs in tomato sauce or sausages and onions. Dessert might be a trifle, fruit crumble, flan or rice pudding, usually with a choice of cream, ice cream or custard.

Tea with a selection of cakes is served mid-afternoon. Then comes a light supper – perhaps soup, sandwiches, omelette, corned beef hash or pasta bake with fruit, yoghurt or jelly to follow.

Finally, for those still awake who might be feeling a little peckish before bed, a selection of sandwiches and a milky drink is available.
